SHADOW PLAY: EMBRACING YOUR DARK SIDE FOR A HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER LIFE

Learn about the parts that make us whole, and how we prioritise parts of ourselves over others

How we benefit from the darkness of others, whilst rejecting them for the same reason. The impact this has on the mental health of the individual and society.

Throughout childhood we learn what is considered socially acceptable or unacceptable. With scenarios growing as we grow and reflected in the stories told, from Disney to Hollywood. We conform to societal norms, we hide, repress and deny parts of who we are. Pushing aspects of our personality into the shadow to fit in.

Leading to people seeking unhealthy solutions that include overeating, gangs and alcohol. With the outcomes being unhappiness, addiction, depression and death. This is common however, functional sufferers that are able to perform like the average human are extremely common.

Confronting, embracing and integrating our shadow, will lead to achieve greater self awareness, personal growth, improved professional outcomes, and an extended happier and healthier life.

Learn about the parts that constitute our wholeness, how we prioritize certain aspects of ourselves over others and the impact of the process

Explore how we benefit from the struggles of others while simultaneously rejecting them for the same reasons, and the impact this has on mental health.

Throughout childhood, we internalize societal norms, learning what is considered socially acceptable or unacceptable. These scenarios evolve as we grow, mirroring the narratives portrayed in stories from Disney to Hollywood. In order to fit in, we often conform, concealing, repressing, and denying parts of our true selves, pushing aspects of our personality into the shadow.

This internal conflict can lead individuals to resort to unhealthy coping strategies, including overeating, involvement in gangs, and substance abuse. The repercussions may manifest as obesity, incarceration, addiction, depression, personality disorders, and, ultimately, death. It's noteworthy that many individuals may outwardly function normally despite grappling with internal struggles.

Confronting, embracing, and integrating our shadow selves can result in greater self-awareness, personal growth, improved professional outcomes, and an extended, happier, and healthier life.

THE MOTHERBOARD: CONDITIONING YOURSELF TO PERFORM TO YOUR MAX

Using football as a central theme, Kevin draws on historical research and his own extensive work, including over 100 hours of interviews with elite performers for his book, ‘Soccology: Inside the Minds of Successful Professionals.’

Through this journey, he leads the audience to reflect, self-assess, gain new awareness, find motivation and provides specific actions.
